Jim Atria, a Fort Lauderdale developer and avid diver donated $10,000 to help the Poinciana, which was later named after him in appreciation of his financial assistance. The Jim Atria originally came to rest on her port side in just over 110 feet of water. Six years later, Hurricane Andrew’s storm surge righted the vessel and moved it offshore, where she is now found in 135 feet of water.
