Marsa Shagra is one of the richest and most pristine house reefs in the south and has been declared a protected area for the last 20 years. Many pictures of species in Red Sea reef guides like Debelius and Collins where taken here. According to Robert Meyer’s author of Collins claims that there are at least 5 species of endemic species living in this protected bay.
